Welcome to the website of Easton Garford Endowed CE School.
I am proud to be the headteacher of Easton Garford. It is an extremely happy school with a “family” ethos. This is coupled with an atmosphere of high expectation which encourages the development of self respect and high attainment, and enables pupils to achieve their full potential.
The teaching is purposeful and we aim to involve parents in a genuine partnership. During the current Academic Year, I have been very pleased to welcome Parent Volunteers into school to help listen to readers, and to run an after-school club: something I am keen to continue in the future.
We have recently been successful in achieving the Activemark 2007 accreditation, which reflects our strong focus on promoting physical activity, plus our involvement with sports coaching and the local School Sports Partnership. We are working towards National Healthy Schools Status, and have enjoyed our first annual Healthy School Week (“Spring Into A Healthy Lifestyle”). This has helped to raise awareness of the importance of healthy eating and healthy lifestyles. To promote this further, we have introduced:
ü Water For All – children are issued with a free Easton Garford water bottle, and encouraged to drink regularly throughout the day;
ü Cool Milk At School – children are entitled to free milk until they reach the age of 5 years, at which point milk can be purchased at 19p per 189ml;
ü After-School Clubs which focus on physical activity and healthy eating (Football Skills, Dance/Aerobics, Cookery, etc.);
ü I am currently working with parents to determine the level of interest for hot meals – I hope that this will lead to the introduction of daily hot meals, and am working with a local catering company to ensure that across the week there is a good nutritional balance, with plenty of choice for those children who are sometimes reluctant to eat.
I truly believe that Easton Garford Endowed CE School is an exciting place to be, both for pupils, parents and staff. Please feel free to visit Easton Garford and meet our friendly staff and see for yourself what our school has to offer.

A few words about the local area:
South West Lincolnshire is renowned for it's beautiful rolling countryside and ancient market towns. There are a wealth of historical and architectural delights to discover as you travel around the area.
Easton on the Hill is a small village but well served by three public houses, all of whom serve good food and beers. The village is characterised by the local stonework and Collyweston slated roofs, giving it a look straight from a Dickens masterpiece. There are many happy hours to be spent walking around the village and through the adjoining fields, soaking in the atmosphere and admiring the effort of those ancient craftsmen who produced such fine work. The village is on bus routes into the major towns nearby albeit on an infrequent basis. For the more athletic it is a 40 minute stroll into nearby Stamford.
Stamford will undoubtedly feel familiar to anyone who has watched a period drama on television. Set in the valley of the river Welland, it's Georgian buildings have been heavily used as backdrops to all manner of productions and give the town a comfortable air of prosperity. Once described by Sir Walter Scott as the finest scene between London and Edinburgh, the town has over 600 listed buildings. There are a number of quality shops and restaurants in the town as well as all the usual local amenities. Specialities include the large antiques centres, the street markets on a Friday and Saturday, and the fornightly Farmers Markets which offer a wide range of local produce.
The Stamford Arts Centre was actually built in 1776 and houses one of the oldest provincial theatres in the country. It is now a thriving focal points for a range of arts events and is also home to a cinema and the Tourist Information Centre. For those that prefer their culture al fresco The Stamford Shakespeare Company perform at the Open Air Theatre Tolethorpe only a few miles away from Stamford's Town centre and has to be described as one of the finest Open Air Theatres in Europe. If you require further details of performances then contact 01780 54381, or get details from the Tourist Information.
On the edge of town, sits the Elizabethan splendour of Burghley House. Set in it's impressive estate the house is open to the public daily from March through to October. On a weekday guided tours are available should you wish it. In the grounds stand the Sculpture Gardens, home to a number of fine exhibits. Burghley House is internationally renowned for the Horse Trials, attracting thousands of visitors to the area.
